This project aims to extend an existing town house by adding a two-level penthouse. While the ground floor is dedicated to the common areas of the building, the creation of a commercial space facing the street allows for dialogue between the plot and its urban environment.

The courtyard is a space shared by all the building users. The first three floors of the building are housing 6 apartments. These dwellings are accessed by a new external vertical circulation. This organization enhances the available square meters and creates comfortable outdoor access.

The architectural form of the project is characterized by superimposed offsets. This setbacks are carving the volumetry of the project to adapt it to the urban plan of Paris. These redents create a variety of outdoor spaces. The façades are clad in brushed steel cladding. This shimmering material defines the unitary image of the extension.

The vertical circulations are a singular element of the project. Made of a metal frame structure, the stairs and the lift are grafted to the existing building. The circulations are entirely wrapped in a stainless steel grid that the climbing plants of the terraces will invade over the years.
